Surprising amount of storage space!

With recent projects having come up, I've had to buy bare tools with no proper way to store them. This 22-inch Ridgid Pro Gear Toolbox solves that issue! Paired with the rest of the Gen 2.0 setup, I now have storage for all my tools. I chose to designate this toolbox to my grinders and accessories since I recently had to sand the metal auger housing to my 13-year old snowblower, and rusted metal deck to my lawnmower, down to bare metal before priming and painting. In this box, I was able to fit my orbital sander, angle grinder, flap discs, oscillating tool, a bunch of 80-grit and 220-grit sandpapers, a couple 3AH batteries, and 2 bags of 2-inch sanding discs. In the included tray, I stored my straight die grinder, 90-degree die grinder, as well as some oscillating tool blades. Two wall connectors are included so that you can mount this box to a studded wall when not busy transporting these to and from. The padlock eyelet on the cover accommodates regular-sized locks. If you have multiple boxes to stack, the metal side latches lock them down securely. The two front metal latches cinch securely as well. A water seal on all 4-sides of the lid protects against dust and water from entering. I like the fact that when you open the lid, it stays open by itself. If you have the older style gen1 boxes, they will fit on these gen2 boxes. Finally, I'm getting better organized by the day!

Super easy to transport to and from

I've been in the market for mobile tool storage for a while now, done my research, and this is the setup I chose because frankly, I now have a few tools that don't have a proper way to securely store them. I'm heavily vested in the Ridgid tool brand and was elated to see options in the Ridgid Pro Gear storage cart/boxes and sizing options. I chose to use this Ridgid Gen2 Pro Gear mobile cart to store my framing nailer, finish nailer, brad nailer, palm nailer, charger, 4 battery packs, different sized nail clips, with still room to spare. The heavy-duty 9-inch wheels make it a cinch to traverse gravel, grass, and the like. The telescoping handle can extend to accommodate a stack of storage boxes, or brought down when only the cart is being used, or removed entirely if space is limited (by squeezing the two tabs inward) to fit inside a truck. The padlock eyelet on the cover accommodates regular-sized locks. If you have multiple boxes to stack, the metal side latches lock them down securely. The two front metal latches give the ears a pleasant ping, assuring everything is fastened. As expected, this has a water seal to protect against dust and water from entering. The included organizer tray fit 2 3AH batteries with ease. I appreciate the fact that when you open the lid, it opens ALL THE WAY VERTICAL (see picture) and stays open by itself, giving you full access to the box contents. If you have the older style gen1 boxes, they will fit on these gen2 boxes. Honestly, this does everything I want it to do, so I'm happy!

Lightweight and sturdy

This has been handy for more than just tools. We like using it for camping because it’s so versatile. The box can be easily removed from the wheels, this is especially helpful when we clean it out because we can hose it off and let it dry upside down without the wheels. There are accessories that work with this system and help to make the large bin space more organized or can stack on top. We think j it’s relatively light so considering how sturdy it is.

Quality at a good price

2.0 Pro Gear System 25 in. All Terrain Rolling Tool Cart and Organizer Tool Box. I also own the previous series of these Rigid stackable boxes and was hoping these boxes would attach to my previous Rigid cart, and they don’t. This design is slightly different. The latches on these boxes are on the front and on the side on my old boxes. The wheels are on the outside of the boxes on this cart and within the width of the boxes on my old cart. My old boxes also didn’t come with small treys to organize smaller items. The wheels are 25.5 inches wide. The boxes have an orange seal around the lid to keep water and dust out. I think this is a super nice set to organize your gear that should last for years and years. The three stackable boxes with the cart are less than $200 so it is priced correctly. Box height Box with cart-16.5 inchesWith the small box on top of the cart and bottom box-22.5 inchesWith the medium size box on to of the cart and bottom box-28 inchesAll three boxes with the cart-34.5 inches

Definitely not an upgrade from the original

New wheel location keeps boxes from sitting side by side, the wheels keep them 5-6” apart. New handle design means you can no longer slide the toolbox into the truck bed. The handle acts as a kickstand and stops that movement. New locks to hold other boxes on are loose and allow top boxes to fall off easily. New lid design requires you to remove top boxes then open the lid. Where as the old design allowed the lid of the rolling box to removed with the top boxes.

Very Impressive heavy duty tool Box

I have owned many tool boxes over the years but nothing like this HEAVY DUTY RIDGID box. While somewhat heavy to carry the boxes that I have had in the past would either Rust (if Steel) or fall apart if some form of plastic. This box appears well designed to last for many years if not a life time. I like the idea that it also comes with a set of brackets to attach it to a wall in a closet or garage or workshop. The size alone would permit the user to select the necessary tools including power tools that could be carried to the away jobs when necessary. I am very impressed with the quality and appearance and look foreward to years of practical usage.

RIDGID Pro Gear Power Tool Cases Gen 2.0 are a great way to protect your expensive tools and keep them organized

Save your power tools from damage and hold the tool and accessories with it. Now you can just take the toolbox to the job sight and have ever thing you need at hand. The pro 2.0 are compatible with 1.0 systems They are made of high impact resin and have a weather seal to help keep out water and dust plus a padded handle to help you carry the box and the lid is lockable also with a padlock eyelet. They come with a wall mount system so you can install the brackets and then slide the toolbox on them great in my service truck or shop wall. Instructions included for wall mounting. The rolling tool cart is very easy to use with the quick disconnect and telescoping handle plus the large nine-inch wheels make it easy to maneuver when the handle is all the way down it rests on the floor to stabilize the cart and it is 25 ½’’ wide at the outside of the wheels so it fits in a small place. The toolboxes are stackable and held in place by metal latches. Removable interior tray organizers come in handy to hold and sort smaller items. This review and pictures are for models 1007760285, 1007760304 and 1007760310. RIDGID also makes other different size toolboxes check them out at Home Depot They Work For Me

    Excellent upgrade

The Ridgid 2.0 Pro Grear System second generation 22" modular tool box has some very nice upgrades done to the boxes. The boxes hinges are stronger and stay open when lifted open automatically and don't come down until you give it a slight tug. The weather proof gasket around the edge gives a very nice seal to keep out water and dust. The oad lock area has been upgraded with metal reinforcement to make hard to break in. The boxes also now come with wall mountable brackets for you to be able to store the box on any surface you want mount the brackets to. It aso now includes a small parts or bit box that fits inside instead of the lift out tray.

    tool case

I elected to get this case because I could never keep my tools in one place and seemed to always needed to charge the batteries when I did. This way I can find the tools and access them easily. I have not gotten it set up completely but it's coming together nicely. I am going to add commonly used bits in the storage compartment. The only 0bjection I have is that there is no padding in the box, but I can fix that with some excess foam that I have. I am also going to get the rolling box for some of my larger tools.

    Excellent tool box...

RIDGID 2.0 Pro Gear System Power Tool Case and Storage Tool Box is designed as a module that's part of the larger Rigid nesting system, but can be used as standalone, too. It also is a redesign of earlier Ridgid boxes I've seen and they state it's backward compatible. This is a good size tool case, 22 - -inches by 14 - inches by 6 - inches deep. It has a sturdy piano type hinge along the back cover's length. A large carry handle and two side handles to lock into other cases or can be held as handles, too. It comes with two heavy duty clasps and provision for a padlock to secure it. It is basically a large compartment inside and comes with a separate small parts case that's removable and nests inside. It also comes with two space dividers to subdivide the large box, if that's more useful. I'm using it without divides for my reciprocating saws case. The saw fits nicely and secure. The case is reinforced inside the case to carry a heavy tool load. It's as sturdy as earlier models I've seen. In addition the storage system has wall mounts with 16 – inch spacing for those that want to install the case on a wall. This is more suitable for those with several cases, but one case will work as well here. The wall mounts are study as is the molded mount receptacle on the case. What I especially like is the large comfortable carrying handle that feels good to lug a heavy case filled with tools. This is an excellent tool case, built to take everyday banging around on the job-site. It is an excellent value for a big box with space subdividing options.

    Awesome case

I’m really impressed with the quality and sturdiness of this toolbox. The size is larger than what I was expecting, and it will definitely hold a large quantity of tools. The toolbox Latches are very heavy duty, and the side and top handles have plenty of room for my hands. I think the integrated small parts organizer will be very useful to me. The toolbox comes with sturdy wall hangers if needed.

Sturdy, large capacity toolbox, hard to find accessories

This is the latest generation of Rigid tool storage boxes and it comes with some useful new features. It's part of a modular system, so it’s all compatible with the Rigid 2.0 and 1.0 storage gear, including Pro Gear Tool Cart so you can latch everything together and roll it around. Although the Pro Gear toolbox has provisions for some internal organization (and it does come with one removable storage bin - see photos), I've not been able to find any other custom fit Rigid storage bins or dividers for it yet. Since it has a ton of storage space and it’s all still empty, I'm still pondering how to organize it effectively instead of just piling stuff in there. The toolbox is waterproof so whatever the contents, they will remain dry. There’s also a place to easily secure the lid with a padlock or the entire box with a cable lock. And it does come with wall brackets so you can hang the tool box on a wall as long as those brackets are well secured.

Great utility box and strong with gasket.

This toolbox will be used to great extent for my fishing gear that I use in Florida at our other home there. The gasket is along the perimeter to hold saltwater at bay, and it seems to be of very good material. The box has dividers that you can move around as needed and an accessory box that flips open to hold smaller items. If I decide to use for power tools instead this box is big enough for some tools at each job, I go to just exchange tools as needed. The boxes construction is very strong and made of plastic fgor many years of good usage.

    Heavy Duty & Well Built

This heavy duty and well built tool case is made if a high strength, strong polymer with heavy duty latches that have steel bales that hold securely, but are easy to open by way of the large size of the overall latch. The case is made water proof via a rubber gasket that seals the top & bottom sections. There is a small plastic bin for hardware and small parts, bits, etc. There are brackets for linking to additional cases or even mounting on walls. There is also a steel lined hasp for securing with a padlock, (see photos).

    Excellent Cart

Excellent cart, very robust with upsized tires. Ridgid has redesigned the hinges for the latching system and they're loose compared to gen 1. The new handle legs slams the floor when not careful while lowering. Installing new stoppers will alleviate the issue. Be advised, the cooler if stacked on top of the large box will not open fully. Having a small box in between may provide the clearance needed. Overall good product but seemed rushed in R&D with a lot of afterthoughts.

        Just average

For the price this cooler is not worth it unless you have the Ridgid modular tool box system because this will stack with the rest of the pieces. It only holds ice for about a day (really short compared to other brands). It is super lightweight, but that is because it isn't very insulated. It looks nice and holds plenty of items, but the ice retention is why I gave it 3/5 stars. The price is also a little high for what you actually get from this product. I still enjoy mine, but that's mainly because it matches my tools..

          Perfect Rugged Cooler

This cooler is the perfect size for day trips out into our local desert or for a day of working outside in the heat. It holds a good amount of beverages, food, and/or ice while still being portable. The gasket in the lid (pictured) will not leak and will not spill even when the cooler is tipped. The handle is quite sturdy and remains where it is put. My family has already used this for several trips, which is why it is dusty in the pictures, and it kept our beverages cold the entire day with a single large ice pack. I like it enough that I’m planning on buying the crate that can be attached to it for dry food and the rolling toolbox for tools and emergency supplies. I would highly recommend this cooler as it’s great for both recreation and for the worksite, especially since it can be paired with the rolling toolbox, crate, or toolbox which in my opinion makes it that much more convenient.

Rugged, Durable, Easy to clean, Better than most soft sided coolers

I ordered the RIDGID Cold Box to use on trips to a Colorado mountain house we co-own with three other families. As you may expect, we use our mountain house share of time about one week a month. On every trip we take food and have been using a soft sided cooler for our frozen and refrigerated items. The trip is usually a little over 2 hours from our home on the “Front Range”. The soft sided coolers were not keeping meat, bread, berries and veggies frozen. The re-freeze when we unpacked was hurting the quality of the food. I was looking for an affordable rugged cooler that wasn’t too big to hold just our frozen items segregated from the refrigerated items. The attraction of the Ridgid Cold Box was its rugged appearance, claimed durability, size (Goldilocks – not too big and not too small), and ability to “keep ice for 48 hours”. In addition, I liked the idea of compatibility with the ridged tool box line for portability as I often take tools up for maintenance and projects at the mountain house. The box shapes are ideal for packing items for the trip in the back of my SUV and make sharing the space with my dog easy because they can be easily secured with bungies. My assessment: Quality design and construction makes the cooler as rugged as it looks and should provide durability. The hinges are solid providing a tight fit for the lid. The seals seem substantial and well seated. I really like the two sets of handles; a one-handed option and a two handed option for when the load is heavy. The handles are very secure feeling and appear durable. The plastic surfaces are made of high impact plastic and seem easy to clean. Everything about the box says durable. The size as I mentioned is “just right” for me. If you are using it for beverages then you’ll be pleased if your beverages are in 12 Oz standard cans. If you like soda bottles that are a liter or a quart, I found they cannot fit vertically with the lid closed. That could be a problem once the bottle is opened as it must be laid on its side to fit. As for its ability to handle my frozen food for a few hours from freezer to freezer, it works fine and fits my needs. It does not, however, keep ice for 48 hours as the tag claims. I emptied my ice-maker into the cooler, shut the lid and closed the latches. It sat it my dining room at and average ambient temperature of 67 degrees for 48 hours and 12 minutes. When I opened it up all the ice had melted except a half cup of depleted floating cubes. The water temperature was at 40 degrees. Don’t expect two days of keeping frozen items frozen.

The RIDGID Cold Box in Gray will be enjoyed everywhere it goes!

The RIDGID Cold Box in Gray arrived on my porch super fast after ordering it. At first, it looks like just a normal cooler, or even another RIDGID tool/job box. However, while RIDGID boxes are black with orange trim, this RIDGID Cold Box comes in grey (with the orange seal) which when you are looking at towers of tool boxes (or spread out boxes) at a job site, you'll know immediately which one is the cooler. Nice thought so as not have to opening each of the boxes. The box-long carrying handle at first seems stiff but once working it a bit, it's got just the right amount of tension so its intention is to stay put where you want it to. The handle also eases down on either side of the cooler, not just one or the other. There are handles on both sides of the cooler to make it easy to move without the longer carrying handle or for even two people to carry the cooler. The 2 "cup holders" on the closed lid are nice but they really have no depth and won't prevent cups from spilling over. These latches are super nice to operate and didn't aggravate my carpal tunnel or arthritis - they are very user friendly, yet still do the job of keeping a nice tight seal (along with the rubber/silicone [?] seal) to keep the inside cold or cool. The 42 can capability comes from stacking them 2-can high inside the cooler. But do know it can still hold water and beer bottles, tall boy cans, and a lot more. Depending on HOW you cool down the RIDGID Cold Box will determine the length its contents stay cool/cold. I would say 48 hours is probably its upper limit but the RIDGID Cold Box does a really nice job of keeping its contents as cool and cold - like the cans and bottles came out of a refrigerator. However, with the cooler weighing about 10 pounds while empty, the RIDGID Cold Box will get much heavier after you add cans, bottles, and/or ice to it. I knows that's an obvious comment but do make sure you eat your Wheaties when you're hauling this around. The exterior of the Cold Box is definitely RIDGID - not only by its manufacturer's moniker but also by its construction. This cooler is one tough cookie and will protect its inside and contents but the outside too! One BIG note - the non-latch side (the one with the hinges) has a more slender profile so when you carry the RIDGID Cold Box, do so with the latches facing out. You won't keep hitting your leg when carrying the cooler. How clever! Maybe other coolers have this feature too but I don't own all of them. I definitely see the value in the RIDGID Cold Box and feel it is worth the price, features and convenience.

          This is a good box/cooler

I like the proportions of this cold box. The interior space is not as high as most coolers but it is longer. If one is keeping a variety of things in it there is less need to go digging down through everything. The hinges are solid and have built in stops for when the lid is opened. The lid opens far enough back to prevent it from slamming shut. The latches are just as robust and definitely clamp the lid down in the closed position. The pliable sealing ring compresses and seems to make an effective dirt, air and water seal.If one has other Ridgid brand boxes some of them can be stacked and latched together one on top of the other. If the box on the bottom has wheels the stack can be rolled from place to place. This box will keep its contents cold for a day or so, depending upon how much ice one starts with and other variables. This unit does perform as well as some other coolers I have had, better than some, but not as good as some others. So, take it from there. This is a well made box. It has some great features. It does the job of keeping the contents cold, just perhaps not as long as one would want. It depends on ones needs and expectations. Price is not necessarily a guide to cold keeping ability, A user needs to balance their own priorities.

          Great accessory!

This is a great addition to the Ridgid tool line. Made for the Ridgid stacking toolbox line. This cooler can be used as a stand alone item. Very durable, great size and weight, good for your daytime work and recreation activities. 48hr ice control makes for a long duration of cooling. Easy to clean, has a carrying handle. Easily attaches to the toolbox system.

          Plenty of room

The Ridgid 27 quart cooler has plenty of room. Approximate inner dimensions are 19.25 wide by 10 deep by 9.5 inches tall counting the recess in the lid. High enough to keep "tall-boys" cold. It is suppose to keep ice for 48 hours and has one long handle across the top that swings out of the way as well as a flip-up handle on each end and a padlock eye. Also works with other Ridgid stackable boxes.

Great Addition to Your Ridgid Set

This Cold Box is a great add-on to your ridgid tool set or great on it's own. It's sturdy with a ton of storage space. Even if the price seems high to you, it is definitely worth the cost. The insulation value is great. The construction is solid. It connects well to other Ridgid portable toolboxes. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a good, long-lasting cooler.

          Great Cooler

This is one of the best coolers I have used. I have another "high-end" cooler that costs a lot more than this one and doesn't work any better. This Ridgid cooler is great. I put several sodas in the cooler straight out of the refrigerator and checked them 2 days later. They were only slightly warmer than when they came out of the refrigerator. The side handles (locking bars) on this cooler make it easy to carry with two hands or use the main handle to carry it. The latches secure really tight and it is easily portable. I have a different brand tool box but this cooler sits on top of it well to roll to the truck. It doesn't have a drain but that is not a big deal. If you need a cooler that is very well insulated and nice features, this Ridgid cooler is for you.

          Sturdy cooler with nice features.

This cooler is constructed very well without bee too heavy. The walls are thick and insulate, of course, and the lid has a good rubber seal that is compressed when the lid is locked to really help hold the temperature. The handle has fixed up and down positions, which is a nice convenience. The back side is even rounded in a slight bit to make it more comfortable to carry. There are also 2 small handles on either side. It's also designed to stack and snap onto other RIGID boxes if you have them. Its a really well made cooler that looks like it will stand up to a lot of abuse. My only small gripe is that there are 2 slots/groves on the inside that look like they are designed for dividers, but it doesn't come with any dividers.

Great Looking, Great Size and Strong

This is a great looking box, I especially like the orange inside. It's very sturdy. It has two rubber coated steel handles on each end and a large handle that pivots over the top. You can use a padlock to secure the contents. Two latches keep the lid closed and those are heavy duty latches too. There are two cup holders on top. It'll hold 42 cans and says that it will keep ice for 48 hours. This sits easily on the tool boxes similar to this box. This will last me many years, like their big tool box has. The cold box comes with a lifetime warranty.

          Solid Cooler

I actually never owned a cooler, so the "lightweight" claim for this one may or may not be true. Completely empty, it already weighs 10 pounds, so once filled with drinks, you'd need a strong man and a boy to transport it. That said, it is impressive. The interior is generous, although I wish it was a fraction deeper to hold a 2 liter bottle upright. Nevertheless, for job site purposes, it fits into a system of tool boxes that can be connected together for easy transport without both a man and a boy. ;) The side handles double as those connection pieces, but as rubberized for easy grip alone. The long, sturdy handle that spans the unit can be dropped to the front or back depending on your needs. The rubberized seal keeps the cool and liquid in for an amazing 48 hours of cool from ice. Different types of ice packs and how much you fill the box may yield different results, but I would caution against dry ice due to the plastic. It may become brittle and shatter. I couldn't find any information about it, but better safe than sorry. The only thing it's missing is a drain for all that melted ice. Given the dimensions I somehow thought it would be bigger. It would be great if they had provided both outer and inner dimensions, but this works for me. Almost makes me want to get more from the interlocking system for which this is a part. But it's still pretty great for a stand alone cooler.

          Nice cold box

This is a nice cold box by Ridgid and the use of the Ridgid colors look great. it is made of polymer and has a silicon seal around the lid. It is claimed that ice will last 48 hours and by mi testing that is spot on. It is stackable with their other tool boxes with a large carry handle and two metal tie down handles. Inside there is three divider areas but did not come with divider panels, may be sold separately. It has two cup holders in the lid and two snap locks, it can also be padlocked. For its size it is light but can hold 42 cans of your favorite beverage. This is great for the work site or the back of the suv.

          Very sturdy cooler

The Rigid Cooler is made from a hard plactic. Very durable. Can stack them on top of each other and they have a locking bar for doing that. Can't stand a regular wine bottle up inside just for a reference. Ice lasts quite awhile inside. The handle is hard to swing up and down at first, but as you use it, it does loosen up. The snaps to hold the lid down seem nice a strong and they do hold the lid down nice and tight. The inside looks like you can purchase dividers since there are two grooves for them to slide in.
