Plant 3D Object Enabler problems
These **** enablers...
Morning Gents,
I have installed the enabler add-on for 2018 Plant 3D, now my model looks fine in Navis Simulate... but when I open Plant 3D all of the fittings have now vanished.. if i uninstall the object enablers, Plant 3D shows the fittings fine, but they no longer appear in Navis... Any ideas? I cannot seem to get a scenario where fittings are shown in both Navis AND Plant 3D.
Mike

Dear @Anonymous,
what kind of graphics card do you use?
Is your graphics card certified by Autodesk?
Graphics card drivers current?

Good afternoon Hartmut,
My graphics card is an Nvidia Quadro M620 and is up to date.
I think it is a conflict with the Object Enabler, All was working fine last week when I was using Navis Manage, now we are using Simulate I get these issues.

On top of the OE's I would recommend getting the export utility and installing it too. Try it first, then the OE.

had the same problem , export to autocad and bring this in to navis should solve it. elbows and fittings valves etc coming in as wireframe hard to explain to the boss all your good work and the model in navis looking like a pile of filrewood. hope it helps previous poster has brushed on this so i'm presuming im just repeating the answer. had it and others looking at this and could not explain it. works perfect although the extra step in the process is not welcomed.

Appreciated gents, I think I've found the route of my particular cause - I'm using very large and dense cloud scan(s) even though they are broken down into several individual scans within the CAD file, it seems having multiple scans sends the graphics 'west'. Once I remove the scans and regen all is fine. Initially presumed it may have been a computer spec issue but this machine is pretty top end spec'd so can only assume its an issue with the software itself.
Have tried the export/utility, this did work initially.... until I fired up the scans. I guess this is one for the developers, at least I have a work around I suppose.
Thanks for all suggestions

Glad its working somewhat now. But i'm confused if the issue occurs within Plant or Navisworks?

@ryan.balesBoth! Initially the issue was within Plant, though once I'd installed the OE and the export utility the fittings shown fine in plant. Once I opened the dwg up in Navis the fittings had disappeared whereas before the OE and export utility import they were showing fine. If I uninstalled both Navis worked fine but Plant had issues. Maybe it was purely coincidental as I seem to have no issues now that I'm working with smaller point clouds within plant.
Hope this clears up the confusion.

Do you know where to find object enabler exe file required, I have a 'OE' problem for Plant 3D 2021 & Navis 2021object enabler down load but they only have 2023 & 2024, my client has 2021.
Regards
Lyn
