Because that is the beauty of an Air Fryer. All you need are some ramekins or some ordinary coffee cups to make this fancy egg recipe.
Just like with Instant Pot poached eggs you can make multiple poached eggs in one go so another win.
Air Fryer Poached Eggs Ingredients
Poached eggs are a fancy way of presenting your eggs. When preparing them in the Air Fryer you need to following ingredients.
Have them ready when you start:
- Large eggs
- Water
- Bread
- Slices of bacon, chicken, turkey (optional)
How To Make Air Fryer Poached Eggs
Spray a ramekin or coffee cup with cooking spray or brush with vegetable oil.
Crack one egg in the cup. Then cover the egg with two tablespoons of water. Repeat for the second egg.
Preheat your Air Fryer to 400℉ for 3 minutes. Put the cups in the Air Fryer and cook for 4 minutes.
If you want to make 4 poached eggs at a time increase the cooking time to 5 minutes.
While the eggs are cooking, toast the slices of bread in a toaster or in the oven.
Add a slice of streaky bacon, chicken, or turkey.
Take the eggs out of the Air Fryer and put them on top of the toast. Serve immediately.
Can I Turn My Air Poached Eggs Into Egg Benedict?
Yes, you can. All you need to do is make a Hollandaise sauce. There are many different recipes for a Hollandaise sauce.
Made with either heavy cream, cream cheese, or milk. You can heat your sauce in a pan on low heat or you can make it using au-bain Marie to heat the sauce.
You need the following ingredients:
- 4 large egg yolks
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 1½ tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
To make Hollandaise you need a saucepan and heat-resistant bowl to heat it au-bain Marie.
Add water to the pan and bring to a light simmer. The bowl should not touch the water.
Then add all the ingredients into the bowl and whisk through to combine. Keep on stirring until the sauce thickens and reaches a temperature of 165℉.
Can You Store Poached Eggs?
Yes, you can store poached eggs. If you plan on storing poached eggs for later, put the eggs into ice-cold water as soon as it is done cooking.
This will stop the cooking process and keep the egg yolks soft and runny.
There is only one way to store your eggs and that is in the refrigerator.
Put the poached eggs in an airtight food container and cover the eggs completely with water. Store the eggs in the fridge for up to 3 days.
How To Reheat Poached Eggs
You have several ways to reheat poached eggs:
- Stove – you can reheat the eggs in boiling water. So, either heat water on the stove or use a kettle that provides boiling water. Add the poached eggs into the hot water en let it sit for 30 seconds to heat the eggs through
- Microwave – Take a microwave-safe bowl with hot water and bring it to a boil in the microwave. Add the egg into the bowl with hot water and let it sit for 1 to 2 minutes. Cover with a lid to preserve
